The Grizedale Forest, has been named by The Telegraph as 4th best mountain biking route in the country and it's easy to see why, It boasts a purpose-built MTB trail, with adrenalising sections of single track descent and leg burning climbs. Most notably the The ‘North Face MTB trail’ is a 10-mile long route which takes around 2 hours 30 minutes. If this isn’t quite your scene Grizedale offers many scenic forest road trails of varying lengths, that guide you through the beautiful lake district country side.
Grizedale, can be accessed from the High Cross, which is just a mile away and offer free parking or at the visitors centre there is parking where all day parking is available for £7.00. This centre is open 7 days a week 10am-5pm in the summer months and 10am-4pm for the rest of the year. Here you can find cycle hire and a bike store; where staff are always very friendly and more than happy to help you with anything bike related). And after a long ride there is a lovely cafe or simply enjoy the picnic and children's play area.
